The APS Endocrinology & Metabolism Section promotes innovative research into the physiology and pathophysiology of endocrine systems and metabolic function through collaborative engagement of trainees, early career faculty and established investigators. We also encourage academic and industrial partnerships to develop novel research strategies and tools to prevent or treat endocrine and metabolic diseases.

Licy Yanes Cardozo

"Physiology is undeniably at the heart of medicine. As a physician-scientist, I believe that we become healthier and thrive in life through our discoveries in science. This is a critical time for science and medicine. Unfortunately, lack of trust has become the norm for many people. So many scientists feel hopeless and overwhelmed with the current system. I want to use my voice and energy to leave a legacy of honesty, hard work and love for science. As a practicing endocrinologist, I cannot think of a better platform for my vision than the APS Endocrinology and Metabolism Section. This Section is home to me. I feel empowered and valued for my identity and want all our members to feel the same. My goal for our Section is to pour my energy into bringing us together and working with a unified goal: the love for science."
