The APS Environmental & Exercise Physiology (EEP) Section organizes and promotes interactions among APS members—especially for trainees and young investigators—who are interested in environmental, exercise and thermal physiology. The Section aims to advance programming for the APS annual meeting at Experimental Biology, offer numerous awards that enhance membership activity and visibility and ensure EEP Section representation throughout APS. The EEP Section is the premier group for anyone interested in integrative physiology.

David Poole

"As a graduate student at UCLA, the APS hosted the iconic 'anaerobic threshold' debates. I watched enthralled as Brian Whipp and George Brooks faced off. A scintillating rapid-fire blend of logic, data interpretation and physiological mechanisms that changed my career trajectory. These apex scientists, along with Karl Wasserman, Glenn Gaesser and Susan Ward, became my mentors, then colleagues and friends. At APS the three "Exercise" sessions were always packed and it was a great show. Today, especially with our own American Physiology Summit meeting, APS promises a superlative and welcoming environment to present and to learn from each other. APS and my APS colleagues have supported me, my career and, more importantly, my students. Now, as chair of the Environmental & Exercise Physiology Section, the superb loyalty and engagement of my fellow officers and our members continues to impress. I encourage your full engagement with APS."
