Home / Membership & Community / APS Communities / Sections / Water & Electrolyte Homeostasis

Water and electrolyte homeostasis (WEH) is essential for normal function across all physiological systems from cells, to organs, to whole systems. Therefore, APS members who affiliate with the WEH Section are interested in cross-cutting integrative research that does not adhere to a single organ-based subdiscipline of physiology.  Activities of the WEH Section are dedicated to both promoting integrative physiological research and developing and mentoring the next generation of scientists with a broad, cross-disciplinary view of physiology.

Kathryn Sandberg

"I joined APS in 2000. Over the past 20+ years, my life has been enriched by the people who make up this Society in so many ways. My APS colleagues have become dear friends and are my inspiration. My research continues to be enriched by reading their publications and seeing their scientific presentations. I've also been inspired to contribute to my community while working along side them on APS committees. I am fortunate to call APS my scientific home."
