This webinar will provide an overview of the physiology of sweating, from sweat gland function to sweat composition. These fundamental concepts will provide foundation for a discussion and demonstration of sweat testing best practices. The development and validation of the Gx sweat patch by the Gatorade Sports Science Institute will also be reviewed.

Lindsay Baker, PhD, is a director at the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) and a PepsiCo research and development fellow. Her primary role is designing and conducting sports nutrition and hydration studies for the GSSI research program. Baker came to GSSI from The Pennsylvania State University, where she earned a doctorate in kinesiology and studyied hydration, electrolyte balance and performance in endurance and team sport athletes.

Anthony Wolfe, MS, is an exercise scientist at the Gatorade Sports Science Institute’s satellite laboratory at the Baylor, Scott and White Sports Performance Center in Frisco, Texas. Wolfe earned his bachelor's degree from Hamline University in Minnesota, where he competed in NCAA ice hockey while finding an interest in research. He moved to the Human Performance Laboratory at the University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained his master's degree under the guidance of Edward Coyle, PhD. Wolfe’s research background has ranged from carbohydrate and protein supplementation to postprandial metabolic assessment and intervention in physical inactivity.
