Curriculum Development and Advising
1. Complete an assessment of North American Physiology Undergraduate Degree Programs including identifying all programs, program directors, enrollment, and curricula for these programs.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Publish a report on the state of physiology undergraduate degree programs.
- Give a webinar or presentation to APS members to summarize the findings.
- Generate a database of programs and contact information.
- Survey the programs to better understand the landscape.
2. Generate a set of career readiness resources for undergraduate and graduate educators/advisors
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Create a curated resource library on the CPE site for career and professional development resources and articles.
- Create a video series on career and professional skills development in courses and advising, including existing departmental evaluation tools for physiology professional skills.
- Work with APS Career Gateway and Career Committee to feature a career/month in a range of sectors.
- Survey advisors for needs in the career development space for physiology.
- Review existing literature on career tracks of physiology students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Project Planning - You must upload a PDF document that provides detailed responses to the following questions.
- Choose your preferred project from the above and state why you, as the applicant, are qualified to take on this high impact project.
- Using the project description as a base, name the goal(s) and measurable objectives for the proposed project. What do you expect to accomplish and what will be the outcomes?
- State the approach or methods that will be used to complete the deliverables and complete your stated goals and objectives for the project. If you envision engaging colleagues or trainees in the project, please state that here.
- State what you as the applicant see as the long-term impact of this project on the physiology community.
- Justify the requested funds (not to exceed $5,000) by providing a clearly outlined plan for how the applicant will complete the necessary work for the project over the course of the award year starting October 1st (hours per week, month, or quarter) and timeline for completion of deliverables. Estimated obligation of 75-100 hours.
