Selection for the award is based on a written abstract and on-site oral presentation competition. Members of the WEH Section Awards Committee judge the abstracts and select three finalists who will attend the American Physiology Summit.

The finalist with the top oral presentation score will receive the Predoctoral Research Award, plus an additional $300 and a complimentary one-year APS membership. The award recipient will be invited to submit a symposium topic for the following year’s American Physiology Summit.
