Award Description
The American Physiological Society (APS) Cardiovascular (CV) Section Young Investigator Award recognizes an outstanding junior investigator involved in cardiovascular research, with a focus on translational science and medicine linking basic science to disease mechanisms.
The candidate must attend the American Physiology Summit to receive their award. The awardee will be recognized at the CV Section Banquet during the American Physiology Summit.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
- be an APS member,
- have a primary affiliation with the CV Section,
- have received their MD, PhD or equivalent degree within the past five years,
- have submitted a first-authored abstract with a focus on translational science and medicine to the American Physiology Summit, and
- attend the American Physiology Summit and present their research.
Criteria
The application package includes:
- biosketch in the current National Institutes of Health format including descriptions of the applicant's contributions to cardiovascular research.
- PDF copy of the submitted abstract, and
- abstract number, abstract authors full name.
Please note that materials in excess (e.g., inclusion of extra letters beyond two required letters or curriculum vitae) will be excluded from evaluation.
