Award Description

The The Environmental & Exercise Physiology (EEP) Section Honor and Impact Awards recognize outstanding APS members for their scientific contributions and service to the EEP Section community.  

The Honor Award celebrates an established investigator with a sustained and influential body of work in environmental, exercise, thermal or applied physiology, and a demonstrated history of leadership, mentorship and collegiality within the EEP Section. 

The Impact Award honors a mid-career investigator who has established a line of impactful research or made a seminal discovery in the field, while also contributing as a collegial colleague of the EEP Section and scientific community.

Eligibility

The nominee must be:

  • Honor Award: APS members with primary EEP Section affiliation who are established investigators. 
  • Impact Award: APS members with primary EEP Section affiliation who are mid-career investigators.
Criteria

Nomination materials must include:

  • Letter of nomination from a current EEP Section member. 
  • Nominee’s curriculum vitae.  
  • For Impact Award only: Publication reprints for highlighted work

Nomination letters must address the nominee’s impactful research or seminal discovery and affirm their collegiality. Applications with excess or incomplete materials, such as additional letters or blank CVs will be excluded.
