Award Description

The American Physiological Society (APS) Distinguished Lectureships are named after outstanding contributors to the disciplinary areas of physiology represented by the 12 APS sections. The Central Nervous Section's (CNS) lecture is the Joseph Erlanger Distinguished Lectureship.

The recipient will be chosen, as a representative of the best within the discipline from a slate of nominees by an anonymous vote of the CNS Section Steering Committee members. The lecturers will present at and actively participate in the American Physiology Summit.


Eligibility

The applicant must:

  • Hold an advanced degree in a CNS-related field. 
  • Be nominated by a member of the CNS Section Steering Committee.
Criteria

The nomination package includes:

  • A nomination letter. 
  • The nominees Curriculum Vitae. 

Recipients are selected by the CNS Section steering Committee and Section Chair. The award is given to a prominent neuroscientist for their contributions.
