Award Description
The American Physiological Society (APS) Renal Section Postdoctoral Excellence in Renal Research Awards recognize postdoctoral fellows who are first author on a renal-based abstract presented at the American Physiology Summit.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be an APS member in good standing with a primary Renal Section affiliation.
- Be a postdoctoral fellow.
Previous winners of this award are not eligible to apply.
Criteria
The application package includes:
- A copy of their first-authored abstract submitted to the Summit under a Renal Section topic category.
Review Criteria
Applicant abstracts will be reviewed for the following:
- Clearly stated hypothesis or aim.
- Technical approach to the study.
- Pertinent results obtained with quantitative and statistical comparisons, when appropriate.
- Clearly stated conclusion.
- Significance of the results to the field.
Finalist selected for the award will be notified prior to the Summit and their posters will be judged on site by the APS Renal Section Awards Committee. Awardees will be recognized at the Summit.
