Award Description

The APS Presidential Service Award recognizes an American Physiological Society (APS) member for extended and outstanding volunteer service to the Society and the broader physiology community. 

Member volunteers who have served the Society extensively throughout their career may be considered for the Presidential Service award. Service activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Editing and reviewing for APS journals and publications.
  • Chairing or serving on Society committees.
  • Demonstrating leadership in section or interest group activities.
  • Participating in task forces and special projects.
  • Conducting outreach to the scientific community or the general public.

Members elected to serve on APS Council or the Board of Directors and past or current APS presidents are not eligible for consideration.

APS members are invited to submit nominations for this award via online submission. The awardee is selected by the Executive Board and will be recognized at the American Physiology Summit.
