Award Description
The Environmental & Exercise Physiology (EEP) Section Clean Competition Anti-doping Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Awards recognize outstanding research by one graduate student and one postdoctoral fellow that advances the field of anti-doping science. Sponsored by the Partnership for Clean Competition (PCC), these awards support research associated with ergogenics, detection of performance-enhancing drugs and procedures, or the impact of training and environmental stress on hematological profiles. These awards aim to foster innovation and integrity in sports science and physiology.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
- Be an APS member with primary affiliation with the EEP Section.
- Be a graduate student (for the predoctoral award) or a postdoctoral researcher (for the postdoctoral award).
- Be the first author on an abstract submitted for the American Physiology Summit in an EEP Section topic category.
Criteria
The application package must include:
- PDF of the abstract.
- Abstract number and full names and emails of the applicant and their sponsor or advisor.
- A letter co-signed by the applicant and primary research mentor addressing eligibility, research contribution, significance of the abstract, and applicant’s research goals.
- Biosketch (National Institutes of Health or National Science Foundation format).

- 11-point font
- single spaced
Applications will be evaluated based on:
Abstract
- Clearly stated hypothesis or aim, technical approach, results reporting.
- Appropriate conclusion and significance.
Other
- Abstract quality: hypothesis or aim, technical approach, results and significance.
- Letter content and biosketch quality.
