The Hearst Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) programs provide fellows with a hands-on research experience in the laboratory of an established APS member, professional development activities and an opportunity to present their research at the APS annual meeting at Experimental Biology. Additional fellowships are granted to the top-ranking SURF candidates whose fellowships are supported by The Hearst Foundation.
