Award Description

The The American Physiological Society (APS) Gastrointestinal & Liver (GIL) Physiology Section Trainee Poster Awards are designed to recognize top poster presentations at the GIL Section Trainee Poster Symposium. 

Eligibility

The applicant must:

  • Be an APS member or be sponsored by an APS member. 
  • Be the first author on an abstract submitted to a Gastrointestinal and Liver topic category. 

All applicants are required to attend the GIL Section Trainee Poster Symposium and present their posters. Applicants who receive a GIL Research Recognition Award prior to the American Physiology Summit will not be eligible for the Poster Award in the same year. 

Criteria

The application includes: 

  • PDF of the abstract submitted to a GIL Section topic category.
  • The abstract number and first author's full name, sponsor or advisor's full name and email address. 

The GIL Trainee Subcommittee will make the final decision of poster awards based on the quality of research and the oral presentation of the poster at the Trainee Symposium at the American Physiology Summit. In addition, applicants will be judged on their ability to answer questions regarding their presented research. 

 More than one applicant can receive the Trainee Poster Award each year. Awardees will be recognized at the GIL Section banquet and business meeting.

Award at a Glance

Award amount: $500, plus reimbursement of the early registration fee to the American Physiology Summit.
