Gain valuable feedback on your research, make vital connections and share your discoveries when you submit your abstract for the American Physiology Summit. Here’s what you need to know about submitting your abstract. 

Abstract Submission 

Abstract submissions for the the Summit open on Oct. 1. 

Submit by the deadline of Dec. 3 for the opportunity to collaborate with others who are working, teaching and learning in the biomedical sciences.    

Accepted abstracts will be scheduled for presentation and will also be published in the APS journal Physiology.    

There is a $95 nonrefundable fee for each submitted abstract.    

  • All abstracts must be submitted electronically.   
  • Payment is required at the time of submission.   
  • Payment may be made with Visa, MasterCard or American Express. A receipt of the abstract handling charge will be emailed to the submitter.   
  • Submitting an abstract does not register you for the Summit. Registration will open Dec. 8.
  • Registration is a separate charge. You must register for the Summit to present your abstract. 
  • If an abstract is withdrawn, the submission fee cannot be refunded.   
  • All accepted abstracts will be published unedited in the journal Physiology. 

All on-time abstract submitters will be notified via email on Jan. 14, 2026, of the specific date, time and presentation format. Any abstract selected for oral presentation will also be scheduled as a poster.
