All investigations involving humans and animals reported in abstracts must have been conducted in conformance with guidelines for experimental procedures as set forth in the Declaration of Helsinki and APS “Guiding Principles for the Care and Use of Animals in Research and Training.” The Organizing Committee will refuse abstracts in which evidence of adherence to these guidelines is not apparent.
All abstracts submitted for the conference—unless withdrawn—will be viewable via a password-protected SharePoint site on the APS website one week before the conference and up to a month after the conference. Abstracts will be reproduced directly from the electronic submission and will serve as the official conference proceedings. Instructions for citing abstracts will be included on the website.
- Use the “Submit Your Abstract” link to access the submission site.
- When you arrive at the submission site for the first time, click the “Join Now” button to create an account. If you have used the Cadmium platform for previous, non-APS submissions, you must still create a new account to use for your APS submission(s).
- When you click the “Join Now” button, you will be taken to a page to complete your profile details. You will also set up an access key, which serves as your password. After creating an account, if you forget your access key, you may click the “Lost Your Access Key?” link on the submission login page to reset it.
- Once you log in, the submission site will walk you through each step of the process.
- A link to abstract preparation instructions is provided on each screen throughout the submission site.
- The first author must be the presenting author.
- Have the abstract title and all the author(s) contact information available.
- Prepare only the body of your abstract as a document (MS Word document is preferred) on your personal computer. Paste the text of your abstract into the online program.
- Do not include the title, authors or affiliations within the main body of the abstract.
- Do not use all capital letters when entering the abstract title, author names and affiliations. Use proper formatting with uppercase and lowercase letters.
- Include the funding source(s) as the last line of your abstract or add references, if needed.
- Limit your submission to 3,500 characters and spaces. This includes the title, authors, institutions, the abstract body, and references.
- All abstract submissions will be considered for a poster presentation only; there is an opportunity for oral presentations at this conference and those will be left to the discretion of conference organizers.
- Each submission will go through a review process by the conference organizers to determine if it is accepted or rejected. Notifications of the result will be sent to the first author on or around September 20.
- The first author will be notified of the presentation date and time. Notifications of this information will be sent by October 4.
- The first author must register for the conference to present a submitted abstract. Please contact the APS Office of Scientific Meetings to make alternate arrangements if the first author is not available to attend.
The Dependent Support Travel Award will be offered exclusively for the 2024 Integrative Physiology of Exercise conference. Eligible APS members must submit an abstract as first/senior author to the conference by the abstract submission deadline. Learn more about the Dependent Support Travel Award.
