Home / Publications & News / Newsroom / News / Member Update: Changes Coming to APS Community Platform
We Asked, You Answered, We Listened.

Your feedback on the tools you need to connect with other members of the APS community is vital. We asked what you thought about our community APS Connect platform, and we want you to know that we heard you. Our section, committee and interest group leaders told us they want an easier way to share news and information with members of their communities. Our members asked for fewer, more targeted emails focused on the programs, initiatives and conversations that interest them the most. And, all of you want an easy and streamlined way to engage.

So, in response, we’re making positive moves. We’re sunsetting the APS Connect Community on October 1 and launching a new beta version My APS Member Dashboard on November 1.

Some of the features from the APS Connect Community will be migrated and can be accessed via your My APS Member Dashboard. These include:

  • communications from your APS sections, interest groups and committees;
  • shared document libraries for community leaders;
  • threaded discussion forums to which you can subscribe;
  • Society announcements;
  • events calendar;
  • free member jobs listing; and
  • member directory.*

During this beta phase, we will continue to roll out new tools and features to provide you with the most member value. Please be patient as we work and share your feedback to help us shape your My APS Member Dashboard in the weeks and months to come.

*Feature to be added in coming months.
