APS-ADInstruments (ADI) Strategic Partnership Case Study
APS and ADI share a mission to advance physiology through the creation of widely accessible education programs. The APS-ADI strategic partnership encourages the exchange of scientific ideas and facilitates the development of early-career scientists. Shared initiatives include:

APS-ADI Mastermind Group
APS has developed an invitation-only scientific advisory group consisting of physiology researchers and educators. The group provides ADI with a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and perceptions of their brand and products that inform product development, pricing and commercial models. By conducting group interviews with key physiology opinion leaders, APS collects expert opinions and novel feedback to improve customer outreach and guide product design.
Meeghan De Cagna
Chief Community & Learning Officer
Meeghan De Cagna joined APS as the chief engagement and partnerships officer in March 2019. In her role, De Cagna is responsible for the marketing, membership, communications and business development teams. Prior to joining APS, De Cagna worked at the Endocrine Society as chief strategic partnerships officer and at the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). At AAPA she served as the vice president for trainee engagement and director of leadership development for their Center for Healthcare Leadership and Management, an internal business consultancy working with the largest academic medical centers in the U.S. Before moving into the association space, De Cagna spent 18 years working in for-profit marketing roles, including 10 years as chief marketing officer of a $100 million privately held educational enterprise she helped build. De Cagna holds a master of science in health communication degree from Boston University, an executive certificate from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business and three executive certificates in global marketing strategy, branding, and development from the Thunderbird School of International Management. She also is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and has earned the certified association executive (CAE) designation.
Jacob White
Senior Manager, Development & Strategic Partnerships
As the development and strategic partnerships manager at APS, Jacob White manages fundraising efforts by developing strategic partnership programs with industry, academia, and scientific foundations. Prior to joining APS in March 2019, White worked at the Endocrine Society, supporting business development for physician and patient medical education programs. He earlier served as the D.C. metro area sales representative for Azer Scientific, a clinical and research pathology reagent company.
White holds a master of biotechnology enterprise and entrepreneurship (MBEE) from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor of science in biological sciences with a microbiology concentration from the University of Maryland, College Park. In his leisure, he enjoys reading, watching movies, and playing with his beagle.
