This webinar will introduce the major cardiovascular changes that occur following spinal cord injury in animal models and the clinical population. During his presentation, Chris West, PhD, of the University of British Columbia in Canada, will share results from studies where his group has tested the efficacy of novel therapies to improve cardiovascular function post-injury. He will also provide share his outlook on future directions for the research field.

He directs the Translational Integrative Physiology Laboratory. West’s lab aims to understand the pathways that control cardiorespiratory and autonomic function after spinal cord injury and how to effectively manipulate the pathways to improve function.
