Andy Hemmert, PhD
SVP, R&D Molecular Biology and Programs at bioMérieux

Andy Hemmert, PhD, is the senior vice president for molecular research and development at the biotechnology company bioMerieux. He received a doctorate in biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been working in the diagnostics industry for the past 13 years. Hemmert currently leads research and development teams across the U.S. and France to create innovative molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases.

Margie Zak, PharmD
Sr. Medical Director, Market Access and Medical Liaisons at Akebia Therapeutics

Margie Zak, PharmD, is the senior. medical director for market access and medical liaisons at Akebia Therapeutics. Their responsibilities include developing and implementing medical strategy and tactics for market access accounts and providing fair-balanced clinical and health outcomes information to large, organized customers. Zak has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare organizations. Zak was previously an assistant professor and infectious disease clinical pharmacist at the University of Pittsburgh and its associated medical center.

Lawrence Beck
