Julia Hum, PhD, will demonstrate how to create custom multimodal teaching modules using the Ditki Medical & Biological Sciences educational platform. The aim of this platform is to increase physiology student engagement and understanding of complex renal physiology topics and let instructors meet their course objectives and track student progress. Hum will walk learners through a stepwise approach that provides students with an interactive curriculum integrating both learning and assessment phases.  

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Introduce how to use Ditki in the physiology classroom.
  • Demonstrate the creation and use of custom Ditki modules.
  • Explain how to teach renal physiology using Ditki as a teaching tool.

Associate Professor of Physiology Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine, Marian University

Julia Hum, PhD, is an associate professor of physiology at Marian University’s Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine and the director of the MS in Biomedical Sciences program. She earned a doctorate in cellular and integrative physiology from Indiana University School of Medicine. Hum is a past president of the Indiana Physiological Society and championed the inclusion of physiology educational research at their state-wide annual meeting. Her research interests include musculoskeletal and physiology education projects.
