Migraine, a neurologic disease that affects approximately 12% of people around the world, is a leading cause of disability worldwide and is the leading cause of years lived with disability for women. The pathophysiology of migraine involves complex interactions between genetic and environmental factors in the setting of abnormal neurologic function. 

Amaal Starling, MD, will explore the impact of migraine in this webinar. She will discuss the current understanding of migraine pathophysiology, available treatment options and the persistent knowledge gaps in addressing this disabling condition.

Amaal J. Starling, MD, is a board-certified consultant and an associate professor of neurology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She is the program director for both the Mayo Clinic’s Headache Medicine Fellowship and Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science’s Arizona Campus Transitional Year Residency Program.
