In this webinar, Teresa Milner, PhD, will present her research of accelerated ovarian failure to explore estrogen’s role in menopausal hypertension. Milner’s research, using a mouse model of menopause highlights the therapeutic potential of estrogen receptor beta agonists during menopause transition. She will focus on the role of estrogen in menopausal hypertension, particularly in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus, a crucial brain region for blood pressure regulation.

Professor, Weill Cornell Medicine

Teresa Milner, PhD, received her BS from the University of California, Irvine, and her doctorate from the University of California San Diego. She is currently a professor of neuroscience at Weill Cornell Medicine’s Feil Family Brain and Mind Research Institute. Milner’s research program aims to understand the biological basis for sex differences in the brain. Her research focuses on cardiovascular circuitry in the brainstem and hypothalamus and the opioid system in the hippocampus.
