In this webinar, René Remie, PhD, will explore five decades of foundational principles of surgery that have evolved into what is now called “good surgical practice.” The presentation will also delve into the concept of the three T’s: time, trauma and Trash and provide insights into training in traditional and microsurgical techniques.  

Key Learning Objectives:   

  • Understand of traumatic effects on the body, tissue handling and exposure, hemostasis and asepsis and Halsted criteria. 
  • Understand standard aseptic techniques. 
  • Review the effects of the implantation of catheters and devices animal model health. 
  • Review the appropriate use of instruments and suture materials in surgery. 
  • Understand perioperative care best practices.
