Stuart Goldstein, MD, will discuss current methods of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) measurement and estimation to assess kidney function. He will also discuss limitations of serum creatinine-based estimated GFR (eGFR) equations. Goldstein will present data supporting the use of the fluorescent marker relmapirazin as a GFR agent in people and its role in transdermal GFR. The program will compare the accuracy of transdermal GFR to current methods of assessing kidney function and its potential advantages at the point of care.
